One of those classifications separates ethical systems into deontological, teleological, and relativistic systems (Rae, 2000.) In a deontological system, ethics, and decisions are based mostly on moral absolutes or virtue as guiding principles. Actions are therefore seen as either right or wrong. Ethics principles are seen as given by divine command, rationalism, or natural law (Rae, 2000.) In teleological systems, decisions come from the perceived end result of the action. Finally in a relativistic system, the ethical evolution of the person is directly affected by the surrounding circumstances, culture, and what society considers being acceptable or not (Rae, 2000.)I consider that my system of ethics has evolved throughout my life. Initially, it was primarily a deontological system, where the concept of right and wrong was most influenced by my parents and religion.
