The social learning theory is a psychological and social theory of crime that finds that criminals learn criminal behavior through interactions with people in their environment. Social learning theory finds the formation of ones identity is a learned response to social stimuli. Learning theorists identify different patterns of rewards and sanctions that affect the normal process of learning and internalizing moral codes (Lynch, 2000).
