During the interrogation police can learn critical information about a criminal case or can illicit confessions from criminal suspects. In order for the evidence or the confession of the criminal suspect to be eligible for the court case it must first be obtained legally. Due to recent criticism in the media the Chief of Police has requested a report be created that discusses the implementation of a training program for detectives that will ensure they understand the law surrounding interrogation techniques and what interrogation techniques are most appropriate and most successful when dealing with the criminal suspect. ReportMiranda Warnings Interrogation is the art of questioning and examining a source to obtain the maximum amount of usable information (Pike, 2000). One of the most important aspects of the interrogation is ensuring that it is legal and eligible to be used in the court process. In order to ensure that police follow the law and the rights of the criminal suspect are protected the Supreme Court established the Miranda Warning in the case of Miranda vs. Arizona. The Miranda Warning is a legal requirement where police that are interrogating criminal suspects must first warn a criminal suspect of their right to have an attorney present during any questioning as well as their right to remain silent.
