This is particularly true in the area of forensic toxicology, as this is both fascinating and important for many applications. Forensic toxicology deals with the investigation of toxic substances, environmental chemicals, poisonous products and alcohol. If you or someone you know has been required to submit to a drug test for employment, then this is one of the components of forensic toxicology. Forensic Toxicology has quite a history with many accomplishments many have not even heard of. Beginning in the 1950"s, we begin with M. Cutbush, and colleagues who first described the Duffy blood group system. Also Max Frei-Sulzer, founder of the first Swiss criminalistics laboratory, developed the tape lift method of collecting trace evidence. The American Academy of Forensic Science (AAFS) was formed in Chicago, Illinois. This group also began a publication of the Journal of Forensic Science (JFS) (Ramsland, 2008).In 1951, F. H. Allenand colleagues first described the Kidd blood grouping system. In 1953 Kirk published Crime Investigation, one of the first comprehensive criminalistics and crime investigation texts that extended theory in addition to practice. In 1954 R. F.
