Physical harm or abuse involves hitting, throwing, scalding or causing of any kind of physical harm to a child or adult that is vulnerable. Psychological or emotional abuse refers to persistent psychological maltreatment of a person with the intention of causing adverse and long term emotional effect on the person that lacks ability to safeguard himself or is vulnerable. Sexual abuse is mainly practiced on children or young people that maybe less aware of what is happening where they are made to take part in sexual activities such as prostitution (Yvonne 2009, 56). Parents and the society, more specifically health practitioners i.e. nurses and doctors have the obligation to ensure that a child is protected from any possible harm both physical and mental harm.
