At age 49, needless to say I’m am from the “old/traditional” school of thought. In the teaching/learning domain, I think inventions derive from necessity when societal, business or personal matters have issues that arise which in turn provoke change in thought and behavior. Self reflection is the “mental gymnastics” of the action research (Mills, 2014). Therefore, I think the way things got the way they are in teaching and learning is because problems arise during the teaching/learning processes that disrupt learning environment which led to eventual disruptive innovation. In theory, the ‘Each One Teach One” program, which grew nationwide, provided that each student be given the attention needed to encourage learning.

In theory, the Each One Teach One program, which grew nationwide, provided that each student be given the attention needed to encourage learning. The No Child Left Behind program, which gained its popularity primarily in the southern hemisphere of the United States, in theory provides that each child would be assured the opportunity to advance with ones peers scholastically. However, the lack of funding for more teachers has left both programs in dire straits and they became less effective over the years.
