History!!!The Princes in the Tower Investigation!!In this essay, Im going to discuss ideas and evidence discovered about the murder suspects of The Princes in the Tower. From this, Im going to infer the ideas and draw a conclusion on where I believe the responsibility lies for the death of The Princes in the Tower.!!Firstly, I believe Richard III rather surreptitiously usurped the throne from Edward V, soon after the disappearance of the princes aged twelve and nine in July of 1483. This is because he proclaimed himself King within his parliament only, rather than having an official parliamentary recognition of his crowning. He was determined to declare the sons of the King as bastards, due to their illegitimacy of Edward IV and a marriage that was supposed to take place, before his marriage to Elizabeth Woodville; he succeeded. In order to take the throne with ease, the Duke of Gloucester (His status before king) must have had the princes removed so they werent a threat to his proclamation. Leaving the princes alive would have meant that his claim was not officially accepted due to the claim the princes still had, as the late Kings sons. I believe that if Richard had had nothing to do with the disappearance of the princes, he would have openly and publicly spoken about the situation to sustain his reputation and express his sympathy and confusion of their disappearance, however, he did not.
