This project is relevant, due to the increasing prices for theproducts, and the apparent decrease in efficiency. I will compare the absorbencies ofBrawny, Marcal, Bounty, and Scott Brands. The tools used to collect this data willinclude two measuring cups, labeled in increments of milliliters. The technologies usedinclude a calculator for necessary calculations, and a stopwatch to measure time inseconds.Literary Review:There have been several experiments testing the absorbency of different paper towels.However, two that I researched had very good ideas of how to test the absorption. Thefirst experimenter filled a measuring cup with 1 cup of water. Then, placed a paper towelin the water for 5 seconds. Lastly, the experimenter noted the amount of water remainingin the measuring cup, and repeated the experiment 2 more times, for a total of 3 times foreach brand, (Shuttleworth, M., 2008).In another similar design, 200 ml of water was placed into a measuring cup. The papertowel was folded, and submerged in the water for 30 seconds. Then, the experimentersqueezed out as much excess water as possible into a measuring cup. The a
