Immanuel Kant and Michel Foucault are two scholars who havemade insightful comments on the matter and have been referenced in the philosophical field(Kant, 3-10).According to Immanuel Kant, enlightenment is when a man develops from his immaturestate. Immaturity is when one cannot make a certain decision without help from someone else. Inthis case, he gives an example of a man who is wealthy and has a nutritionist to decide what heshould eat, a personal assistant who decides on his days activities and a physician who informshim of his medical issues. Kant describes such a person as immature because he lives undersomeone else guidance and therefore does not have the freedom to make his own decision.
