Postmodernism is the condition and events that come up after asociety is well informed. Since the late seventeenth century there has been a great debate of howenlightenment applies to the daily lives of the society. There are those that think it is a positiveaspect in the society while there are those that believe it should not be embraced. Articles havebeen written criticizing the theory and there have been two keen people whose perspective hasbeen respected over the years. Immanuel Kant and Michel Foucault are two scholars who havemade insightful comments on the matter and have been referenced in the philosophical field(Kant, 3-10).According to Immanuel Kant, enlightenment is when a man develops from his immaturestate. Immaturity is when one cannot make a certain decision without help from someone else. Inthis case, he gives an example of a man who is wealthy and has a nutritionist to decide what heshould eat, a personal assistant who decides on his days activities and a physician who informshim of his medical issues. Kant describes such a person as immature because he lives undersomeone else guidance and therefore does not have the freedom to make his own decision. Theday he is left alone to make decisions he may end up failing several times but with time may endSURNAME2u
