The emotional statesubjectively experienced by the patient. It may be altered by use of psychoactive substances likealcohol and opiates. Examples of variations in mood include1) Euthymic mood- is the normal mood2) Depressed mood- pathological feeling of sadness/low3) Irritable- easily angered, offended4) Elevated- cheerful, happy mood5) Euphoric- intense elation of mood6) Labile- rapid changes in emotions8) Anhedonia- loss of intense or inability to enjoy previously pleasurable activities*Affect- its body and behavioral changes i.e. the outward expression of the emotionIrritable, Labile, appropriate, inappropriateBlunted- reduction in intensity of outward expressionFlat- no outward signs to express the feelingsDISTURBANCE IN THOUGHT- content, form, alienation/controlA) Disorders of content- delusions, overvalued ideas, obsessions etc*Delusion- a false, unshakable belief, based on inco
