Poe addresses thatthe beautiful woman has died prematurely at her youth.CharacterThe poem revolves around the youth whose narrator remains unmentioned and especiallyof Annabel Lee. It is full of child-like emotions celebrations which are coherent with theprinciples of the Romantic era. During this time the adulthood was viewed as a corrupted versionof childhood nature. Nature was preferred to society because it is perceived to be better andinbred state.
