The others left, Jose andhis colleagues fled the crime scene.Jose was arrested, he was charged with murder. The prosecutors called for the fitnesshearing to determine if Jose was fit for the adult criminal system. More information came up uponthorough investigation. It was seen that the youthful age combined with a high use of drugs couldhave caused the crime. Jose was given a chance to plead guilty to a lesser crime of manmanslaughter in an adult court. Jose was then sent to the California Youth Authority. AfterSurname2psychiatric assessment and being found fit for public safety, he was sentenced to 208 days insidethe Juvenile Hall.
