Answer------------Cyber stalking investigation and preventionCyber stalking, a relatively new form of electronic crime, affects victims who are mostlyinvisible, and its violence is primarily what is said, and not what is eventually done.Even so, too often online harassment escalates into real-life stalking, where its victims arelargely female, and who occasionally become victims of homicide that started out as online"following" and badgering.Even if it does not get to that point, cyber stalking in and of itself can be as frightening and asreal as being followed and watched in your neighborhood or in your home.To prevent this unnecessary worry and fear among Internet users, law enforcement isstepping up its efforts to educate and make people aware of this crime and its potential. Evenso, not all law enforcement agencies respond aggressively to allegations of online stalking, for a variety of reasons.Typical of other types of victims, the majority of cyber stalking victims do not report theincidents to law enforcement either because they feel that a criminal offense has not yetoccurred, or because they feel that law enforcement will not take them seriously. In addition, most law enforcement agencies have not had the training to recognize the serious nature ofcyberstalking, or on how to investigate these offenses. Unfortunately, some yet-to-beenlightened officers have recommended to victims that they either turn off their computers, orthat they call law enforcemen
