Parents need to be supported by the community in their efforts to assist their children in avoiding delinquent behavior. Because every family is different with many being single or two working home parents that require the juvenile to be left alone. When juveniles are left to their own device every afternoon they are more vulnerable to getting into trouble or succumbing to the pressure of their peers (After School Alliance, 2007). Any community program should begin with free after school programs that ensure the juvenile is properly supervised until their parent return from work.
