He was against the people who gave indulgence on the acts of sinners and promised sinners a Heaven. He gave arguments that no one knows who will be in hell after here. It just depends on the good acts of human. Who we are to promise satisfaction of sins? Then he wrote ninety five theses on these arguments and published it in books and media. He was heavily distressed by the romans for such arguments but some of the nobles appreciated his idea on indulgence. In 1521 he communicated with Pope Leo x and asked him to reform this matter. But Emperor Charles 5 called Pope Loe x and declared him as convict but Luther ran away and badly criticized [BBC (2014)].
