hout the world, there are people who stereotype people, things, and situations. Stereotype is a widely held, but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of a person or thing. This is very common in America today for whatever reason. It is just the mindset of the World today. Some stereotypes are negative and insulting; some are just neutral.

It is just the mindset of the World today. Some stereotypes are negative and insulting; some are just neutral. A stereotype that I have encountered numerous times in my life is "African Americans are the best athletes". This type of stereotype can be both positive and negative, in my opinion. It can be positive because it gives African Americans some kind of credit in this world. Although, it kind of gives us too much credit, as well. Personally, I think it belittles the other races that are good at sports. I know of plenty outstanding athletes that are not African American.I must admit I think African Americans are great athletes. So, I guess you can say I agree with this stereotype, but only to a certain extinct. What I mean by this is, this stereotype is taking it a little too far by saying "the best". For instance, Steve Nash is a great basketball player that should definitely get as much credit as Kobe Bryant.Throughout a great deal of my relationships in life, I have heard "girls are too emotional" or "girls are so emotional". This is something that, I'm sure, a lot of girls her in their lifet
