The DHCP is known as the Dynamic Host Control Protocol which assigns an IP address, Subnet and also the Gateway to the computer on a local area network. The IP address is a unique number which is given to every computer on network because two computers cannot share or use the same IP address. Static IP address is defined as an IP address which is not assigned by the DHCP but it is an address which has been manually set up on a computer.
