Going, Inc. is a commercial airline company servicing the United States, Europe and Asia. Additionally, Going, Inc. has a manufacturing division that produces small, privately owned airplanes. You are the newly hired operations manager for Going, Inc., reporting to the company board and the CEO. You are under the following mandates: 1. Create a proposal to save the company's airline service business. 2. Make recommendations to improve the manufacturing operations to keep up with the increasing demand for the product. In the commercial airline business the consumer is looking for a safe and reliable form of transportation but also requires the airline they choose to give their business to meet other needs such as on time departures and arrivals, limited delays and cancellations, reasonable fairs, and good customer service. When the Going, Inc. commercial airline business is losing money one potential problem could be the marketing plan failing to draw in the necessary customers but another could reason could be failures in the operational processes of the airline. In order for the airline to improve sales they will first need to take steps to assess the potential problems that could be causing the drop in sales and loss of customers. It is necessary in the airline industry to have a competitive advantage through ensuring that customers are fully satisfied with the airline experience. Total Quality Management would be the best strategy employed by Going, Inc. to improve sales and the type of services being provided
