DEATH PENALTY IN LIGHT OF VIII AMENDMENT OFUS CONSTITUTIONThe U.S constitution was first presented on May 25, 1787 and after lot of amendments and talks it was accepted and signed on September 17, 1787. This document faced many changes in more than 200 years and has been protected in many ways up till now. Death penalty in US constitution has been practiced for these more than 200 years and this section has been used by US Supreme Court over this period in many cases. This section has been used with the exception that nobody will be given death stance unless a reasonable process has been taken against him or her. A complete and reasonable process shall be backed by the death penalty to the person. As regarding it as legal section many institutions had also opposed death penalty. Opposition of death penalty can also be for their own motive but most of the times they are unable to justify their effort against it. [Constitution now (2007)]On the other hand beside the section of death penalty the US constitution also contains such sections which try to eliminate brutality from punishment. Many amendments have been made to insert these sections in the constitution. One of those amendments is the Eight Amendment.
