The research criteria used to study the process, the rates, incidences as well as prevalence of the victimization usually falls under victimology. There are various types of victimization that includes; sexual misconduct, rape, stalking, physical assault, theft, threat of harm, domestic violence and sexual harassment. This means that people are subject to these various types of victimization every day. The paper will discuss the aspects of victimization and see how each can be prevented. Victimization can easily be prevented and curbed in an easy way. To start with, the sexual misconduct as the first type of victimization can be prevented by using various techniques (Woollacott, 2010). The main one is creating awareness to people about the effects of sexual misconduct among the youth. This will lead to reduction in sexual misconduct as the youth will be aware of the negative results. Rape cases of victimization can also be prevented by the authority around us. The authority can come up with harsh punishment for anyone involved in the raping cases. This can be a warning to the others and hence prevention for rape victimization.
