As their most of the ads humiliated women in different ways due to which they got a high criticism from AIDWA (All India Women's Democratic Association) and faced lot of problems which hurdled their way to make campaigns, Hindustan Lever received a legal notification from National Human Rights Commission and Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as they violated Cable and Television Network Act of 1995. They made two ads which faced a lot of criticism from society as their ad depicted the concept that only those women who have fair color can get promotion or can get a boy or male by applying their cream. In another ad they also portrayed the gender discrimination when a father said that "If only I had a son," while his dark-skinned daughter looks on, helpless and demoralized because she can't bear the financial responsibility of her family. Having a fair color is a status symbol especially for women. Hindustan lever limited try to pick up this thing and unconsciously they degraded and disgraced the dark color people.
