Tutor description

Book Review of the book 'Tour on the Prairies' by Irving Washington for Oklahoma History. Washington Irving was one of Americas’ greatest writers. He was the author that wrote such stories as The legend of Sleepy Hollow, Rip Van Winkle, A History of New York, and many more works of literary brilliance. When Irving returned from his 17-year absence touring Europe, he began to write a series of non-fiction works such as histories and biographies. In A Tour on the Prairies, Irving illustrates his travels through Pawnee country and into the areas of the west not yet traversed by white men. He tells us his adventures through the unexplored Western lands that are now part of Oklahoma.
