Ruse and mirror test - put a ruse on the kid's face, kid doesn't know you did it, put the kid in front of the mirror, will laugh at the "other" kid, a slightly older child and will turn away with embarrassment ? pass that test b. Tarzan syndrome - humans evolve from animals that used to clamor in the treetops. A large animal that is clamoring in the treetop needs to know that it will not fall - educated jump. c. Pre-adaptation - wasn't built for something but we take advantage of it for something else d. ???II. What is Altered Consciousness?a. Sleep, daydreaming, being high, meditation/hypnosis, intense emotions III. Sleep, the best studied altered state.A.
