This experiment was conducted to gain a better understanding of fractional dimension and the effects of applied voltage and molarity on fractional dimension, through the study of copper crystals formed by electrolytic deposition of aqueous CuSO4 solution. Six different trials were conducted during this experiment; three in which the applied voltage was varied while the initial molarity was held constant and three in which the initial molarity was varied while the applied voltage was held constant. The information gathered from this study is that the fractal formed by copper spreads out in two dimensions since the fractal dimension was 1.6. The uses of fractals are limitless, branching out from efficient antenna design to modeling natural landscapes and features.
