Tutor description

This study indicated that the enzyme succinate dehydrogenase has an optimum temperature of approximately 40 degrees Celsius and an optimal pH of 5 to catalyse the substrate succinate. As indicated by the results, the optimum pH level was below that of most enzymes (6-8). This could have been the result of a reporting error. The result was unable to be repeated due to lack of products. This area of the study needs further investigation into the optimum pH levels of succinate dehydrogenase extracted from chicken hearts, and a repeat experiment conducted.
