Religion and Sexuality Religion and sexuality are two major components in people's lives all over the world. Sexuality varies depending on religion, location, culture and time period. Each major religion has developed moral codes and norms regarding sexuality and under the umbrella of sexuality you have gay rights, abortion, same sex marriage and freedom of sexual expression as well. Religious beliefs and practices shape the sexual practices, sexual roles, sexual identities and sexual norms. Both religion and sexuality are fundamental factors in society past, present and future. Human sexuality has always been a controversial issue in terms of religion. Every human being should have the right to his or her own personal sexual freedom. However there are other impacting factors besides religion like location, political background and upbringing. They all can be intertwined. Sex is a powerful aspect of life and ideally people should have the right to love freely and have sexual independence. These ideas a lot of the time are tied back to religious backgrounds. Sexual morality has varied over time and depending on the cultures. A particular societies sexual norms majority of the time is connected to religious beliefs and religious culture. To take a look at a few main global religions and their perspectives and way of life in terms of sexuality is extremely interesting as well as diverse. In term
