Argumentative Essay on AbortionNameInstitutionAbortion is the termination of a pregnancy before it reaches its gestation age. This process is performed surgically or through medication. It results in the death of the foetus. According to the world health organization, abortion can either be spontaneous or induced. This paper focuses on induced abortion. The debate on abortion has existed for a long time. Different states have been struggling with the question of legalizing abortion or not. Abortion is immoral and should remain restricted to special circumstances. This paper focuses on explaining why abortion should not be accepted in the society. Women prefer to go through abortion for various reasons; first it could be as a result of their circumstances. The situation may be difficult to raise a child properly and they opt for an abortion. Second, the mother could be at a health risk. It is in a situation where either the mother or the child can survive. In such a situation, most people prefer to save the mother. Third, if a serious medical condition is detected in the foetus such as physical abnormality. Abortion is a violation of the sanctity of life. Scientifically, Life begins when a foetus is conceived (Naden 2008, p. 27). Terminating a pregnancy means ending the life of the foetus. It can be equated to murder and it should be punishable. Abortion results in intentional harm on another life. It is immoral and brutal because it denies a child a chance
