Main Title: BusinessResearch MethodsStudent XUniversityXBusiness Research Statistical MethodsQuantitative researchQuantitative data collection methods rely on random sampling and structured data collection instruments that fit diverse experiences into predetermined response categories. Their advantage is that they produce results that are easy to summarize, compare, and generalize. They are concerned with testing hypothesis derived from theory and being able to estimate the size of a phenomenon of interest. The two commonest data collection instruments employed in quantitative research study are questionnaires and tests. Advantage of questionnaire is that they can reach a large population, relatively easily and economically, provide quantifiable answers and are relatively easy to analyze. Tests are a means of measuring knowledge, skill, feeling and intelligence or aptitude of an individual or group. Test takers can be ranked using the numerical results produced. Sampling is the selection of an individual unit to measure from a large population. Quantitative sampling methods can be divided into probability and non-probability sampling. The former include random sampling, stratified random sampling, systematic random sampling and multi stage random sampling. on-probability method doesn't involve randomization. The methods that are used in non-probability are purposive, modal instance, expert, snowball sampling etc. Descriptive vs. Inferential Statistical Methods
