This was a difficult task to pull through since the roles always had limitations on them which constrained and defined the characterization provided. This short essay will be geared towards establishing the character role of Orphelia in William Shakespeare's play, Hamlet. Ophelia is torn between two opposing shafts. Her father and sibling brother very well know that Hamlet would only use her that he would take her virginity and discard it on the grounds that she could never be his wife. Her heart has persuaded her that Hamlet cherished her; however Hamlet swears he never did. To her dad and sibling, Ophelia is the everlasting virgin, the vessel of ethical quality whose intention is to be a devoted wife and unflinching mother. To Hamlet, she is a sexual article, a degenerate and beguiling darling.
