The Life of Eudora WeltyIn 1909, a daughter by the name of Eudora Welty was born to Christian Webb Welty and Chestina Andrews Welty in Jackson, Mississippi. The Welty family was very close and loving. Eudora Welty was an extraordinary child growing up as she took on many traits from both her mother and father. Welty got her passion for reading and for language from her mother and she got her love for all instructive and fascinating instruments from her father (Marrs). Welty had two brothers, Edward Jefferson Welty and Walter Andrews Welty, whom she shared many unions of comedy, dedication, and friendship. Due to such a strong family and background, Eudora Welty became one of the most notable graduates of the Jackson Public School System. Welty attended college at Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus, MS and then the University of Wisconsin to complete her bachelor's degree.
