The crime scene photographer will need to bring a crime scene kit with them to the crime scene and would contain a camera, wide angle lens, macro lenses, filters, and an electronic flash as well as tripod, locking cable release, and various types of films. The crime scene photography kit will also consist of a flash light, 15.ABFO #2 scale, notebook, pen, index cards, and gray card. Other items that can be found in the kit are tape measures, camera repair tools, white napkin, clothes pins, and supplementary light meters (Staggs, 2005). When the crime scene photographer is assigned to document crime scenes that occur in the evening or night hours the type of additional equipment they should bring to the crime scene including the original crime scene kit are alternative lights sources. These items are necessary to ensuring that the images that are captured are clear and usable in a court of law.
