The Komen Foundation has been faced with bad press and publicity over a company decision to cut funding support to Planned Parenthood. While the charity is well known for being a national breast cancer awareness group and is a leader in fundraising for breast cancer research the recent decision to announce to the world their decision to cut funding resulted in a negative backlash from the public. The Komen charity has been pivotal in providing women with breast screening and other breast health services and the loss of funding to Planned Parenthood could be detrimental to the Planned Parenthood Centers (Roan, 2012). Despite the fact the charity later withdrew their plans to cut funding the damage was already done and the charity know must take proactive steps to repair the damage. In order for the world to receive the Komen Foundations new message they will need to determine the mix of media that will be used to alert the public to their decision to cut finding as well as the reason Komen chose not to cut funding after all. A strong PR Plan consists of effective methods for relaying the message to the public. The different types of communication tools that will be used
