Consequently, the study aims to determine the index of refraction experimentally. Then, using the standard formula,n = sin?i / sin?r where n is the index of refraction, sin?i is the angle of incidence and sin?r is the angle of refraction, determines whether the gathered data is correct or not, analytically. There are 4 trials will be rendered, each has different angle of incidence. Every trial will undergo the set-up made to determine the refracted angle. After some experiment, the four angles have an index of refraction, which is precise to each other. Findings are presented below:NTRIAL 1 = 1.46NTRIAL 2 = 1.45NTRIAL 3 = 1.44NTRIAL 4 = 1.47After the experiment, the study proves that the index of refraction of the material, glass, is 1.47.INTRODUCTIONLight bends as it enters the boundary between two media. If the second medium is denser than the first medium, the ray of light will be refracted away from the normal, such that the angle of incidence I is less than the angle of refraction r.
