Nonetheless, large-scale shifts in teaching philosophies and practices continue to challenge educators and students alike (Zuo, 2008). This report examines the role and development of English language learning and teaching in the PRC, with a focus on instructional methodologies, current teaching opportunities, and common challenges that English teachers may face when living and working in China.
