The Scientific MethodUniversity of Phoenix The scientific method consists of the following steps. Step one of the scientific method is observation, step two is questioning, step three is hypothesis, step four is testing, step five is results, step six is explanation, step seven is new questions. We use the scientific method in everyday life to help us understand and problem-solving when we need to figure something out. Scientific method is something we all do anytime we are thinking it is how our brain processes and solves problems. The first experiment is on the reason plants grow towards light the second experiment is why television will not turn on when power button is pushed on remote control. Observation: Plants tend to grow and lean toward windows or light. Question: What would make the plant grow in the direction of the window? Hypothesis: The plant needs the light to help it make food to survive. Testing: You grow three plants with a light to the left of them and three plants with a light to the right of them. Results: The leaves of the plants with the light on the left turned toward the left and the tops of the plants grew toward the left. The leaves of the plants with the light on the right turned toward the right and the tops grew toward the right. Explanation: Light starts a process in the plants to help them make food and survive so they turn to light to survive. New Question: Can the plant survive only on light or does it need so
