The need for a community oriented approach in policing was also due to a need to improve crime control and prevention measures employing the support and resources of community programs and institutions (Reisig, 2007). (2007). Measuring Performance in the Era of Community Policing. Retrieved December 5, 2012 from http://www.cj.msu.edu/~outreach/cp/measperf2.html2.
