Since the development of the information age and the new technological capabilities afforded to society the organized crime groups have gone global. The organized crime groups are highly structured and conceal their illegal criminal behavior behind a mask of legitimacy. The organized crime groups hierarchal and can be structured after one of two criminal organizational models. These are the patron-client and bureaucratic organized crime models. The patron-client organized crime model refers to the structure of the criminal enterprise being hierarchal with one "Mob Boss" who has an advisor, or under boss, that give orders to the captains who in turn give orders to the soldiers that commit most of the actual crimes.
