Summary

The author begins this chapter by discussing how much of a failure he was at driving. He finds driving hectic and laborious especially when trying to park. Sedaris describes other’s frustrations with driving as well. He recounts the insults that people from different nationalities will yell at other drivers when irritated by traffic. He discovers these insults whilst on his book signing tours. The insults from the Americans, French, Germans, Austrians, and Romanians are the worst.

Analysis

The author reveals that he struggles with learning to drive. In recounting the insults that drivers yell at each other, the author comes to believe that all people get frustrated when it comes to driving and this motivates him to continue learning how to drive.
