The word “Divergent” refers to Tris, who is the main character of this book. Tris reflects a constant feeling of being “divergent”, thus, leading Tris to what’s her most common feeling: that she’s unsure where she fits in. A common feeling between young adults. Aswell, the fact that she’s divergent is Tris’s greatest asset. It’s what enables her to think outside the box and avert Jeanine’s attempt to off any and all Abnegation members.
