Part 3-5
Summary

In discussing the benefits of having a positive mindset, Hollis narrates on the horrors she underwent just prior to the birth of her first born, Jackson Cage, and recounts experiencing fifty-two hours of labor, as well as giving birth to Jackson without anesthesia. It is through her strong positive will that the birth process was successful. She also describes instances where life can be stressful, just like when one is under pressure to meet a deadline. All in all, having a positive attitude is key to helping a person overcome their challenges.

Analysis

This chapter’s major theme is addressing the pressures of life. Hollis acknowledges that a person is sometimes bound to face stressful challenges, and advises that the best way to deal with such situations is to remain positive, by “focusing on the blessings of each day”.
