Christina Baker Kline went from being a "well-received" midlist author selling around 25.000 copies of each of her first four novels to selling more than 2 million copies of her novel The Orphan Train. Not only is it an amazingly good novel, but sales have also benefitted by a strategy from her publisher to make it a paperback original. And of course a lot of hard work from Christina herself by attending countless of show ups at libraries and book clubs promoting her novel.

She lives together with her husband David and their three children Hayden, Will, and Eli in an old house in Montclair, New Jersey. She still enjoys visiting her parents in Maine on vacations and taking pictures of her children.
