Summary

On December 29, a German attack destroyed 90 percent of London’s financial district, while on the same day, President Roosevelt made a public address that favored British aid. As midnight ticks on New Years’ Eve, German raids over London for the entire year of 1940 killed 13,596 citizens and injured 18,378 more. The next phase of the war begins, with the casualty count from the previous year accounted for.

Analysis
