About the Title

The Sun is also a Star is a young adult romance novel written by Nicola Yoon. The book delves into the questions of love, fate, and God, as Natasha (a Jamaican-American girl) meets and falls in love with Daniel (a Korean-American boy) on the very day that Natasha is scheduled to be deported. In the novel, every chapter is titled by the name of the character who narrates it, with numerous interspersed sections told by a third-person narrator, presumably God or a divine intelligence of the universe. The overall message of the novel is that the universe can come together in spectacular, unimaginable ways to join two people together (Arreola, 2016).
